CHIPS SUMMER PLAYSCHEME
Monday 26th July to Friday 6th August 2010
Weekdays from 2-4pm
Seymour Field, Ingatestone
For those of you who are new to CHIPS, we are a voluntarily run children’s playscheme which runs on Seymour Field, Ingatestone for the first two weeks of the school summer holidays each weekday afternoon from 2-4pm. We offer something for children to do each afternoon, but stress that all children are the responsibility of their parents/carers at each session.
Thanks to a last minute surge of volunteers, CHIPS will now run for the full two weeks this year. We have lots of activities planned for each and every day from craft activities to sports matches to professional workshops! There is something for everyone, including our fenced off crèche area for the under 5’s!
Entrance, as always, is FREE for CHIPS but there are some additional small charges for workshops, refreshments and body art!
This year, we would like to introduce our new ‘Borrow or Buy’ Stall which will be open everyday. Thanks to some fantastic fundraising last year from local mayor Tony Sleep, we have invested in some new sports equipment which includes hula hoops, skipping ropes, frisbees, footballs, swing balls, stilts and bats and balls. Children can come and sign out any items to borrow and play with during a CHIPS session. Alternatively, each day we will have some small items which children can purchase for pocket money prices to play with at CHIPS, these include, bubbles, rocket balloons, bouncy balls and mini water pistols!
We have our Refreshments Stall which is open daily where children can buy drinks, biscuits, crisps and sweets along with our famous CHIPS ice poles!! Mums and Dads can also buy that much needed cup of tea or coffee! We also sell homemade cakes… donations greatly appreciated at each session!
Finally we will have our Body Art Stall where children can have temporary tattoos put on, their faces painted or their nails painted! Some days all three may be available but it depends on the amount volunteers we have!
And just when you thought there was no more….. we have some organized activities planned to make sure that your are truly ‘CHIPSED’ by the end of the two weeks!! Watch the website for any more additions to the programme!
